The Sharp PC-9800T notebook is so replete with peripherals that it will satisfy any mobile professional. The notebook is built around a 166MHz Intel Pentium processor with MMX technology and ships with 32MB of EDO RAM (expandable to 64MB), 512KB of external level 2 cache, a 10X CD-ROM drive and a 2.1GB EIDE hard drive. The 7.5-pound notebook features a 12.1-inch XGA resolution LCD that supports a maximum resolution of 1024x768. It utilizes Sharp's Super High Aperture Screen technology, which increases brightness and reduces power consumption by up to 38 percent. Audio capabilities are provided by a Sound Blaster Pro-compatible chip, built-in stereo speakers and a microphone. Also present is a USB port, which allows the notebook to connect up to 127 peripherals, including modems, scanners, speakers and joysticks. Additionally, the PC-9800T is capable of two means of communication: a 4Mbps infrared port and a 33.6Kbps voice/fax modem. The modem complies with the V.80 standard for video, voice and data.
