You call this fun? A new Word macro virus called ShareFun is anything but. It infiltrates Word when a corrupted document is opened. What's worse, if your e-mail is running, one in four times it attaches itself to an empty message with the subject "You have GOT to see this!" Then it e-mails itself to three random targets from your address book. ScanProt, available at http://www.microsoft.com/MSWordSupport/wd_mvirs.htm (for Word 7.0 and under) and http://www.microsoft.com/office/antivirus/word/normaldot.htm (for Word 97) stops the virus from running automatically. We recently showed you the best place to go for true DirectX drivers (see Notes from the Lab, May). The new address for that site is http://www.microsoft.com/DirectXResources/dxr_enddl.htm News and analysis editor Diganta Majumder found a minor irritant in Internet Explorer 3.0. Say you want to send someone the URL of the site you're visiting. You define it, then go to Edit, then Copy, right? But when you choose Edit, the highlight disappears. Forget the buttons-you have to use the old Ctrl+C to copy the URL.
