It's hip to be square. The Generalized Timing Formula (GTF) is a standard method for generating new display timings for monitors, allowing user-defined refresh rates and pixel formats. While it brings standardization, GTF does not restrict the market to fixed, predefined formats or refresh rates, and thus allows differentiation within a standardized environment. Therefore, you could choose a 1024x1024 resolution, making your image a perfect square.
